GPRS Identifies Structural Steel Layout in Philly

Philadelphia, PA. This past month, GPRS aided local architects in identifying the structural steel layout of a 15 year-abandoned building in Northeast Philly. The architects are planning to renovate the structure to a modern apartment complex in the next few years. In order to move forward, certain benchmarks must be crossed in order to validate its weight capacity. Our job was to map out the rebar in multiple columns and walls on each of its 10 floors. This way, the architects are able to take this data and develop an extremely accurate interpretation of the structures integrity before moving forward. 

As seen in the pictures, disparate columns and walls were scanned and marked out in order to gather a wider portrayal of its layout. Rebar mapping is our most precise application, so what is seen marked on the surface is virtually the same pattern as in the concrete. This application can also be used to clear core holes so rebar is not struck before drilling.
