Concrete Scanning Project

Before core drilling into an elevated slab in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a contractor wanted to identify the location of rebar. The contractor did not want to core through any reinforcing because it could have compromised the integrity of the structural support of the slab. Therefore, GPRS was called to identify and mark the locations of the rebar. GPRS was able to map out rebar location efficiently and accurately using ground penetrating radar and give a safe location to core drill, indicated by ‘OK’ outlined by a square. GPR is a safe and effective method for locating reinforcement and conduits in concrete.
